With the World Cup qualifiers and friendly internationals hardly great for betting, we’re turning to the lower domestic leagues this week.

There is a full programme of League One and League Two matches in England, along with Championship games in Scotland. With some televised action as well, it’s time for the lower tiers to shine.

Northampton to Beat Rotherham (League One)

Northampton v Rotherham Betting

Northampton Town take on Rotherham United in a televised 2pm kick-off and the home side should get us off to a good start. Northampton have 14 points this year to Rotherham’s 8 but more to the point, it’s 10-0 when you consider home points versus away points.

Though the home side haven’t scored too many goals overall, Rotherham’s defence can help to compensate for that. Northampton will get enough opportunities here and odds-against looks generous.

Stockport to Beat Blackpool (League One)

Stockport v Blackpool Betting

There is the possibility of a ‘bounce’ factor here, Blackpool having parted company with Steve Bruce recently. Whether he was to blame for their form – they sit 23rd in the league – or whether this squad of players isn’t good enough only time will tell.

They have enough quality to start climbing, but it may take some time. Regardless of Blackpool’s form, Stockport sit seventh on merit having racked up 19 points and 17 goals in 11 games. They have enough to win this, and confidence is high.

Crewe to Beat Bromley (League Two)

Crewe v Bromley Betting

There are only 4 points between Crewe and Bromley ahead of this game, both sides generally producing plenty of goals.

Crewe have won two in a row and have scored 13 goals in 6 games at home in all competitions. Bromley made a decent start but are now five without a win and had a player sent off last time out in a 3-3 home draw with Tranmere. They are conceding plenty of goals on the road and are likely to do so again.

Gillingham to Beat Cheltenham (League Two)

Gillingham v Cheltenham Betting

In theory, this should be a real betting ‘gimme’. Gillingham have 21 points in the league to Cheltenham’s 7, while a +7 goal difference plays -18 with home advantage. Of course, things aren’t always that simple.

Cheltenham managed a home win last time out, but they do always seem to concede away from home. Gills are two without a win, though they did recover very well from 3-0 down last time to almost snatch a point at MK Dons. They should have more than enough to get back to winning ways now.

St Johnstone to Beat Ross County (Scottish Championship)

St Johnstone v Ross County Betting

St Johnstone were disappointed with their latest 0-0 draw against Ayr United but otherwise they remain solid. They’ve been beaten only once at home this season and never over 90 minutes.

Ross are now two unbeaten overall, a fact contributing to better odds than we should be seeing. In fact, Ross County are TEN games unbeaten away from home over 90 minutes which is quite incredible. Their games are usually very close however and they cannot, simply cannot, continue unbeaten on the road.

Every result they’ve had away from home is another step towards them eventually being beaten and St Johnstone have more than enough to inflict that defeat. We’ll take them on.

Using Our 5 Teams

The five-fold accumulator should be 20/1+ which should be taken on. Another way to use the five teams in the bet is within a Lucky 31.

The Lucky 31 offers 5 singles, 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and the five-fold. This offers some insurance but be careful with that unit stake – a £2 Lucky 31 will cost £62 in total.
