City were back on top for the 2020/21 season, landing the Premier League trophy with 86 points plus an incredible 81 day winning streak, during which they broke all sorts of records including the longest winning streak by an English team in all competitions – 21 games in a row. All in all they won 47 of 61 games played, losing just 8 times, with a win ratio of 77.05%.
They also retained the EFL Cup for the fourth year in a row, pipping Tottenham Hotspur to the prize with a 1-0 victory. They came close in the FA cup, but couldn’t quite get there, losing out to Chelsea in the semi final, and it was a similar story in the Champions league – they got to the final this time, but once again lost out to Chelsea.
The club lost another legend this year when David Silva departed after a 10 year stint, hailed as one of City’s greatest ever players and honoured with a statue at the ground.
